Our Parish is very active. Below are some of the groups that you may want to join.
Joyful Women
This group is open to any women of the parish looking to grow in faith and friendship. The larger membership is broken up into smaller “Circles” to help members build real friendships.
Holy Name Fraternity
This group is open to any men of the parish looking for a way to serve the parish. Besides their monthly business meeting, they also host a monthly Pancake Breakfast (Not being held at this time because of COVID 19) which serves a great meal, at a low price to our wider community. They also help with many of the events held around the parish.
Knights of Columbus
Founded in 
1882, the KofC are the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. The Monsignor Russell E. Kohler Council, #15204, serves the Catholic Community of Westland; Livonia; and Canton Michigan, including St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church.
Our monthly meetings are held at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church from 7:00 – 8:30 PM on the Second Thursday of the Month. They are open to all Knights in good standing. Officers meet at 6:15 before the general membership meeting.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Ministry
The IHMM provides religious and socio-cultural experiences for the Filipino-American community. They host First Saturday Novena Mass in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in the service of the St.Mary Cause of our Joy Parishioners and the Filipino Community. Novena starts at 4:00pm and mass follows at 4:30pm.

Forever Young Seniors
(This group is not active at this time because of COVID 19) Open to any seniors of the Parish. This group meets monthly for a luncheon and educational program. They also take regular bus trips on a monthly basis.
St Mary’s Card and Coffee Club
(This group is not active at this time because of COVID 19) This group meets most Tuesdays throughout the year for coffee, conversation and play cards. Doors open at 10:30am Meeting starts at 11:00am. Small fee to play Pinochle or Euchre.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering.
The St Mary, Cause of Our Joy Conference of St Vincent de Paul (SVdP), is independent from the St Mary, COOJ Catholic Parish. We are a member group of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Archdiocesan Council of Detroit, and staffed entirely by Volunteers.
We serve those in need within the parish boundaries of St Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Parish in Westland, MI.
Our funding is limited, but we help all of those who we can.
